So, we left off with Jax having to get his ducks in order (you can read part one of the review here). What ducks are those, exactly?

Well, obviously he needs someone to run the club while he’s away, and who better for the job than Mr. Bobby Elvis (I may be a little biased though… This man is hands down my favorite character from SoA and possibly of any show ever)? He’s the former VP anyway and definitely the best choice to keep the club on the track Jax wants. However, did you notice the look on Chibs‘ face when Jax made that call? He didn’t look pleased at all to me. And I guess who could blame him; given that he’s the current VP of SAMCRO he should be the one to step up when something happens to Mr. Prez. I still think Jax made the right call though.

Niro called Jax out on his lies early in the episode, letting him know that Juice told him everything when he was ODing in regards to the mother Jax had him kill. So naturally Jax had to let Juice know he knew with a “you betrayed me” on his way out. Juice gave us another one of his super blank stares, but he’ll redeem himself later.

While all of this is going on, Gemma is just losing her marbles. She’s positive she’s never going to see those kids again, and it’s all Tara’s fault. She later learns that Jax is going to be going away, and is positive the reason is because she cut a deal. Soon she’ll have no son, no grandbabies, oh and she’s not sure what’s going on with her man since he asked her to leave Charming with him and she told him she couldn’t. What’s the logical next step? Get hammered, steal Unser’s truck and go wait for the little rat to get home, clearly.

Then comes the part we’ve all been waiting for. While I was sure Gemma was just gonna shoot Tara point blank, I guess the writers of the show thought that just wouldn’t be good enough for her demise. Instead, we get to witness one of the most brutal deaths SoA has had – she half-drowns Tara in some bleachy dish water, and when that isn’t killing her off fast enough, she stabbed her in the back of the skull repeatedly with a meat fork.

Personally, I’m happy she’s gone. I’ve been waiting for it to happen for the last couple of seasons. My Facebook feed tells me I’m in a minority here.

What do you think? Should Tara have died or will this ruin the future of the show? Let us know what you think in the comments!
