Royal Ascot 2014 was memorable for a number of reasons. Whether it was the thrilling races or the betting on the colour of the Queen’s hat, it certainly made headlines.

However, one particular event which nobody saw coming was the dismissal of Strictly Come Dancing star Kristina Rihanoff, who was politely asked to leave the Royal Enclosure after contravening the dress code. The reason? She was sporting a dress for bookmakers Coral, made entirely out of betting slips, as a PR stunt.

This year, the bookmakers are ready for Royal Ascot again after teaming up with designer Ben de Lisi, creator of last year’s dress. While it’s been confirmed that the dress this year will have a slightly more tasteful design, inspired by “jockey silks,” it’s still not clear who will be modelling it. Coral have only let slip that it will be worn by a “household name.”

As we all know, Ascot is the place to be for grabbing the spotlight with daring dresses, so here are a few names that we think could be in the running to wear the dress this year.

Kristina Rihanoff – MAYBE

Of course, first things first, why would the lady who made betting slips fashionable not return for her glory once again to model the latest creation from Ben de Lisi? She certainly would have got a few column inches from her PR stunt last year, though she may think twice after the embarrassment of it all.

Danielle Lineker – MAYBE NOT

This footballer’s wife is one classy lady who can’t resist an opportunity to get in front of the cameras at Royal Ascot – and can we blame her? After all, she is a model by trade, and given her husband’s background, she probably has had dealings with bookmakers in the past. However, she is known for her classy looks at the races, which may not be quite the ensemble this PR stunt is offering.

Katie Price – DEFINITELY

Pick a celebrity who is keen to lend their name to any endorsement and you’ll likely think of Katie Price – the business magnate whose empire spans perfumes, books, music and more. However, while Katie might be a sucker for an endorsement deal, and indeed, a chance to be papped, she’s also the owner of her own equestrian range, so it’s likely she’ll be more than happy to sign herself up for some free publicity.
